TJ and Laura both had experience in the outdoors as canoe and kayak coaches before meeting when they both started working at the same outdoor centre.
Since meeting they have been a devoted couple who have remained active as both individual practitioners in their own fields as well as working together on various projects to help, support and progress various individuals and organisations in their chosen disciplines.
Through living and working together they have beco me a tight knit professional team who strive to do the very best no matter what they are doing.
Diverse Coaching was created through this desire to deliver first class training primarily in the outdoor and leisure industry as well as in team building and has experience at various levels.
Diverse Coaching believes in delivering individualized coaching to every one from individuals, large groups, organisations and companies on a customised basis.
Diverse Coaching is based from its home in Bridgwater (Somerset) however runs training courses all over the UK.
TJ (Tobias) Date
TJ has a wealth of knowledge within paddlesports and the outdoors in general through working for the largest outdoor educational provider in Europe as the Chief Instructor for their flag ship centre. TJ has also worked for the British Canoe Union as a Local Coaching Organiser (LCO) and the Institute Of Outdoor Learning as an Internal Verifier developing outdoor practitioners.
TJ is also an active member of the Sea Cadets and is part of the South West paddlesports management team responsible for helping roughly 4000 staff and cadets become active within paddle sports.
TJ has also recently completed a FdSC in Paramedic Science at the University of Worcester qualifying him as a Paramedic and has also previously worked with the ambulance service as a community first responder. This has ment that he has attended many real life 999 calls as well as spending many years as a senior first aider dealing with many minor and serious conditions.
Laura has been involved in the outdoors and especially paddlesports since she was 10 as a flat water racer amongst other activities. Laura started racing as a way of keeping fit and making new friends however the more she did it the more she wanted to compete. As a result Laura competed in sprint K1, K2 and K4 as well as marathon K1 and K2 at a national level and achieved many medals and trophies as well as becoming a national champion in her class in K1 500m.
As well as competing Laura qualified as a placid water racing coach and from this decided to start a career in the outdoor industry.
Once in the outdoor industry Laura worked as a instructor, head of stores and assistant chief instructor for the largest outdoor educational provider in Europe and so has a wide range of experiences.
