Diverse Coaching are able to offer the Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid (QCF) which meets the needs of:-

– Ofsted requirements for registered child minders
– Requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.

 

The course provides theoretical and practical training in First Aid techniques that are specific to infants aged 0 to 1, and children from 1 to puberty. Candidates will become familiar with the role of the paediatric first aider and be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency situation including being able to provide first aid for a child and an infant who;
◾is unresponsive
◾has an airway obstruction
◾is suffering from shock
◾is wounded and bleeding
◾has a fracture or dislocation
◾has a head, neck or back injury
◾has a condition effecting the eyes, ears or nose
◾has a chronic medical condition or sudden illness
◾is experiencing the effects of extreme heat and/or cold
◾has been poisoned
◾has been bitten or stung
◾has sustained an electric

 

This paediatric first aid course shows delegates how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children.

This course will be adapted to the needs of the particular organisation if all attendees are from the same working background or to suit individuals on one of our ‘open’ courses.

The course is run over two days and includes both theory and practical sessions which are run in a non-intimidating and relaxed atmosphere designed to boost a candidate’s confidence.

Those students who complete the course and are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate
that is valid for three years.

Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommend that first aid trained staff attend a half-day update every twelve months although this is not mandatory. If interested in this please see the annual refresh page.

This course can be run for up to 12 participants and certification and a manual is provided for each student at no additional cost.

This course can either be run at your own premises with all necessary equipment being supplied or another suitable training venue can be sourced by Diverse Coaching at an additional cost.

At the end of the course candidates will receive a debrief of their performance and on request a personal development plan can be created to help further a candidates knowledge/confidence/ability.
